Beacon Drop-In Center

The Beacon offers help through support and empowerment. It addresses the needs of the consumers to ensure that they have a safe refuge on the weekends, when other community services are unavailable. The Beacon is open to all, especially those diagnosed with a mental illness and/or chemical addiction. The Beacon has become an important support for those on the road to recovery. The Beacon fills a unique role in the community by providing individuals with a place where they can talk with someone who “has been there,” who relates to what they are going through and can offer them support and guidance. The staff of The Beacon offers peer support and in sharing their lived experiences, they promote recovery and provide hope through positive role modeling.

“It wasn’t until I started meeting people with similar situations that I could see that others relate and identify to what I go through. They understand my story and I understand them too…” – Chris
